Friday Night Leftovers

~It was a few weeks back but...I really HATE losing time!! I am all for when we gain that hour in the fall BUT when we lose an hour...ARGH!!!

~Did you know that IF and WHEN you get your tubes tied it is just a 1/500 chance of not getting pregnant!!! Here I thought it was a sure thing...100% no question. Today I learnt something new!!

~ARGH!!! It is snowing like crazy again!! It is really hard to believe that Spring arrived Sunday!!

~Hubby started his construction business this past week...here is to hoping it all goes well!!

~ WOW!! I did not know a baby could spit up so much and still remain hydrated!! Meme had a bad day for this on Tuesday and it had Momma so worried.

~ It was so very nice to sleep in a bed instead of on the couch...I hope this continues.

~ Meme is now moved into 3-6 month clothes. :( They grow so fast.

~ A baby's soother is a mothers snooze button!!

~ We have received SOOO much snow this week!! I am really missing spring and being able to go outside to play. SPRING please come fast...or maybe just jump right to SUMMER. Wishful thinking EH?!?

~We had a really good sleeping pattern going on...key word HAD!! This week Meme has decided to throw it out the back door and that Mommy does NOT need anymore sleep than 4 hours!!

~I am sure there is more to post BUT my brain is gone this week...maybe I will catch up next week!!

Something We All Need To Remember!!

My Grandma-In-Law emailed this too me and I thought it was something worth sharing with all my bloggy friends!!

BANK ACCOUNT!!!

This is something we should all remember.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man,

who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock,

with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly,

even though he is legally blind,

moved to a nursing home today.

His wife of 70 years recently passed away,

making the move necessary.

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home,

he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator,

I provided a visual description of his tiny room,

including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.

'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.

Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.

Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ....

it's how I arrange my mind.

I already decided to love it.

'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.

I have a choice;

I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work,

or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift,

and as long as my eyes open,

I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.

Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account.

You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.

I am still depositing.

'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.

2. Free your mind from worries.

3. Live simply.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less.

Sledding Fun!!

Last Week we had a play date with some very wonderful people!!

Tornado had a BLAST!!!

We did not stay out for very long because the wind was chilly and a bit much for Meme.

BUT it was just enough to make him so very happy.

As an added bonus he got to go the McDonald's for lunch and to play in the playhouse area for a very long time!!

On the way home he asked me many questions:

1. Where does Saige live? When I told him the answer the was VERY excited she lived in the same city as us and that is was not too far from our house.

2. Where does Evan live? Well I only knew the city and not the area and that was not enough for him. LOL

3. On the way out he asked me if Chicken would be there. Well when I told him I did not think so he was VERY upset. (See CanadianMama Tornado does like Chicken!!)

4. The last question was: Can we do play dates all the time?? I REALLY LOVE THEM!!!

These play dates have really been fun and both of us are enjoying them!! It is really nice to be able to get out. It is really nice for myself and Tornado to build friendships too!!

When I seen this hill I thought to myself 'He is really going to go down that hill?!?!'
If it was me there would be no way!!

Alivia's Baby Shower ~ Feb. 26 2011

I know I am so very late for posting this but like the good 'ole saying:

Better Late Than Never!!

This was the first road trip with Meme so I was already nervous about how it was going to go. Well it was the WORST trip EVER!! I am glad I was not driving!! I had more than enough stress and nuts in my tummy with just being the passenger.

I had been watching the weather network all week long, because if it was crappy weather we would NOT be making the trip up to Red Deer. Well it was good, or so we thought!! We hit a complete WHITE OUT/BLIZZARD on the way up. Every few minutes we seen a car/truck/van in the ditch. The thing that got me all worked up was:

A lady was in the lane beside us and in a split second spun out coming into our lane and than the ditch. She came within inches of hitting us!! OMG!!! My heart raced!! My hands were shaking!! I wanted to get off the road RIGHT NOW!! We were going to pull into Olds BUT the turn off was so deep in snow we could not take it. We drove ALL the way to Red Deer.

Than when we were almost at Red Deer we hear a voice from the back seat 'I have to go pee.' Anyone who has young children know they give you no warning. And the roads were NOT in any condition to pull over!! Thankfully he was able to hold it until we were able to stop!!

After that most stressful drive we made it safely to Cozy's house for her baby's shower!!

They are 26 days apart!!

'Oh Meme what is your problem!!'

The shower was over and we had to make the decision as to whether we go home or spend the night. We decided to go home!!

Well as we get to Innisfail we here on the radio that it is Blizzard/white conditions and traveling is not advised!! GREAT!! So we pull into Innisfail and are about to run into the grocery store there to buy some formula...but than we see the RCMP building and decide to ask them what the road conditions are like. The RCMP officer says they are OK and the sanders have been out all day/night and if you drive safely it is fine.

OK that made our decision easy to continue our journey home.

WELL it was the same as the drive out, minus the spin out right in front of us, and the fact that is was now dark which meant it was harder to see. It was better for me that it was dark because I didn't see all the vehicle in the ditch BUT it made it worse for hubby. We both hate night time driving!! We did make it home safe and sound BUT let me tell you I WILL NOT be traveling that road until summer hits!!
