Tornado In The Month Of Feb. 2011

What Has Tornado Been Doing This Past Month!!

~ First things first you became a big brother!!! You are an AMAZING big brother!! You drive Mom nuts more than anything because you NEVER leave your little sister Meme alone. LOL You need to be everywhere she is. You need to be giving her hugs and kisses all the time. You just LOVE her to pieces!!

~ All the time we get 'Unbelievable' from you!! Everything is UNBELIEVABLE!! LOL

~You have learnt the oh so famous song: Missed me missed me now you gotta kiss me!!! I am sure you learnt it from school but not 100% sure.

~You have been trying so very hard to wink this month!! You have one eye open and one eye shut so far...now to work on the winking part.

~You amaze Mom and Dad everyday with how well you can operate your computer now. You get around netflex all by yourself and find all the shows you like!!

~You and Dad have a special date every weekend!! You get to pick a place to go for lunch and it is just son and dad time. You look forward to this day all week long!!

~Another one of your favorite sayings this month: 'I can live with that.' and 'Piece of cake.'

~Right after Meme came home you got and ear infection accompanied by a really high fever. That was a really hard week for you because you could not cuddle your sister or give her kisses. But we got over it and you surely made up for it. :)

~Every night after I bath Meme you seem to think the bath water is yours. LOL You undress in record time and hop right into the water!!

~You had your follow up appointment with the eye doctor to get the drops in your eyes and you did AMAZING!! Everything in the end was all good. :)

~When you have a bath you really think you are helping me out by cleaning the walls and tub with your bubbles!! LOL

~You have actually gotten better at eating this month and trying new things. You have ate a hamburger with your Dad. You have eaten ground hamburger dishes, not a whole lot and you still complain like mad but none the less you still try it. You now LOVE steak and roast beef!!

I think that about wraps up our monthly update!!

You gave us many laughs this month and have grown so much!!

Mom and Dad love you to pieces and we can not wait to see what the next month brings us!!

Meme's One Month Update

WOW it has already been 1 month since I gave birth to our baby girl!! Time sure does fly by!!

Here is what has been going on the past month with Meme:

Weight ~ 8lbs 12oz

Length ~ 22 inches

Head ~ 36

~Breast feeding has been a challenge with you. You latch really well but than fall asleep and refuse to suck/eat!! I have pumped for the past month and than bottle fed the EBM to you. I stopped dairy, onion, garlic, spicy food and tomatoes for 2 weeks because it gave you really bad gas!! (or so I thought)

~I am sad to say that Momma gave up pumping on your 1 month mark. It was really wearing me down, you still had super bad gas, it was hurting me so much when I pumped tears were in my eyes. (it felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife in both breasts!!)

This was such a hard decision to make and it had me torn apart for days before I finally made the final decision. I wish I was stronger and was able to continue pumping and feeding you. I'm sorry baby girl that Momma was a quitter on this issue.

When you have a 4.5 year old boy and a new baby it is so very hard to pump, feed baby and keep up with the house work well trying to give the older child the correct attention. I could go on with more reasoning's but I will not because it is done now and there is no going back.

*There will be an update on how it is going since we have switched to formula*

~We ended up switching bottles for you. The ones we had that mimicked the breast were too big for you and you could not get good suction. (This was another attempt to cut the gas that you kept having.) Once we switched to a smaller nipple it was like night and day!! You stopped gagging on the milk, you stopped chocking on it and you ate so much better!!! But the gas did not go away.

~Mom and Dad were sitting talking about how chubby you have gotten and out of your tiny little mouth came a giggle!! It was perfect timing and if we both were not here I am sure we would not have believed each other that it actually happened. It was so super cute!!!

~You just LOVE being held so you are laying on your belly!! It is the best position for you when you are cranky and just need to relax!!

~You LOVE your baths and often fall asleep well having one!! BUT you are soon awaken when you are being taken out, OH how you HATE getting out of the bath!!

~We have tried Kolic and Ovol for your gas BUT it seems to do no good.

~Just recently you have discovered the mobile on your swing!! You LOVE watching it and making a 'O' with your mouth as it moves!!

~I found out the hard way that you are allergic to Penaten cream. I was putting it on your little bum to protect it from getting a rash BUT in the end the cream made you little bum bleed. :( We quickly changed to another brand and it cleared right up!!

~As of 1 month old your Daddy had yet to change your bum, get you dressed OR feed you!! BUT he does snuggle with you at night because if he does not you get very cranky!!

At one month old you are so very loved and have completed our family!! Your big brother, Tornado, just loves you to pieces and will not leave you alone. He makes sure you always have what you need, except sleep when he decides it is time to play

Friday Night Leftovers

WOW What A Busy Week!!!

~ This week has been a deep freeze where I live!! I have not wanted to leave my house BUT had no choice because Tornado has preschool to attend. How cold you might ask? Well it was -35c to -40c with the windchill most of the week. The warmest was Thursday but it was still -25c with the windchill!!

~The whole family went to the Home and Garden show on Sunday. I had a really good time and Tornado left with a bag full of goodies. He was in heaven because he received about 10 pens!! (He just LOVES his pens!!) Hubby was disappointed because he wanted to see tools and well there were none!! LOL

~Meme is now a month and the Quack-a-doodle-do of a doctor we used to see just phoned this week to see when we were coming in for her check up!! I responded 'Umm never. We have switched doctors.'

~We go on a trip to Red Deer and I think I pack everything, now it feels like I pack up my house every time we go out, but to my surprise I go and forget Tornado's inhaler. What a thing to forget!! Hubby ended up running to Costco out there and getting a new one.

~Monday Meme loved me and slept for 7hrs!! But than she hated me and had 3 rough nights in a row!! We will get it down to a science!!

~Took Tornado on a play date Thursday. He had such a good time and so did Mom, it was nice having an adult conversation well Tornado played other children!! (Thursday was the day he was supposed to be going to the Zoo with his school BUT holy cow it was too cold for that!!)

~With this freezing weather our furnace decided to stop working!! Thankfully Atco was able to get here fast to fix it. Well they did not fix it, Hubby did. For them to fix it they would have charge $100.00 BUT for Hubby to fix it it cost $30.00!! BIG DIFFERENCE! But lets face it I didn't care how much it cost I wanted heat!!!

Last Week I asked what everyone did for family holidays to try to gather ideas for our family this year. I got two responses: Montana and Kootenays!!

Usually we go to B.C. but this year we were trying to think of somewhere new and exciting to visit. The hunt is still on BUT I am looking into Montana!

Now to this week:

My hubby is going to be starting up his own business for construction. He will be meeting with an accountant this weekend. Here is my question:
