31 Week Update ~ December 14 2010

:) Today, December 14 2010, I had my first appointment with the OBGYN!!! :)

It is the same doctor that delivered Tornado, so that makes it just that much more exciting for me!! It is also nice to be going to a doctor that knows what they are talking about and that is educated in pregnancies.

The doctor was checking out my belly and pushing around and all the usual stuff and Tornado pipes up "HEY DON'T HURT MY BABY SISTER!!"

Now onto the update:

Blood pressure ~ 121/73

Belly measurement ~ 31 :) Right on track :)

Baby girls heart beat ~ 131 Lowest one yet but still good

Now for my weight ~ 149 pnds OUCH!!!

At 27 Weeks I was 136 pnds and NOW I am that horrible number above!! :( But the doctor doesn't seemed concerned about it at all...just me I guess.

What is this baby girl up to:

• You like to get the hiccups all the time. It feels really weird when you get them and sometimes you wake me up at night with them.
• You get so very angry with me if I shift positions in the middle of the night and disturb you. You just start kicking or punching me!!
• I have been craving COFFEE like there is no tomorrow!! I just want to grab a cup and gulp it down!!! Than I remind myself only 7-9 more weeks till I can have a nice steaming cup of coffee!!! I can not wait!!!
• You are now head down and make it interesting to walk at times. You see your Daddy likes to walk fast BUT when you are pushing down there it is impossible for Mommy to walk fast.
• My body is ahead of schedule...it is on a timer already!! 1100-1130pm I up and lay in bed for half an hour to an hour tossing and turning trying to fall back to sleep....than again at 300am-400am I am wide awake and this time it is usually more than an hour before I can get back to sleep. I sure hope these are the hours you choose to feed if my body keeps on this schedule.
• The leg cramps left for awhile but now they are back.
• Your big brother is still in love with you and just can not wait to meet you!! Everytime he sings to you you start to move around!! It is really cute!!

On Saturday my hubby discovered that I could use his coat, my coat no longer does up because of my belly.

YES!! I think to myself.

So, off we go to get hair cut. I put on the coat thinking to myself 'WOW!!! I don't even look that pregnant in this coat!!!'

To my amazement I am DELUSIONAL!!

The lady cutting Hubby's hair knew I was pregnant.

I asked Hubby "if he told her we were expecting."

He let out a very loud laugh and said "NO she could tell!!"

I answer "OH Really...I thought you couldn't tell when I was wearing this coat." and I really meant it too.

Hubby just laughs and says "OH you can tell!!"

OH!

31 weeks and I feel like I have popped right out in the last week!!

Week 27 With Baby Surprise

Some interesting facts that have been going on are:

• You like to give Mommy really really bad leg cramps at night. I am scared to stretch out because it just might lead to cramping. This is normal BUT I never had this with your Big Brother Tornado...and it HURTS like HELL!!!


• Daddy says you are going to wreck Mommy's boobs. LOL He says this because I have already gone up 2 cups sizes and well if I remember correctly after the milk settles in I will be up another cup size. It was REALLY funny when Daddy said that!!


• You are giving Mommy sooo many stretch marks!! Tornado did not give me very many at all!! But you are doing a very good job for the both of you. :) Tornado seen them the other day and thought I was hurt!! LOL


• I have had a pain at the top of my tummy for about a week or two now...I think I have pulled a muscle or my insides are splitting apart!! It comes and goes BUT when it is here it hurts!! I will have to be sure to ask the doctor about this. Asked the doctor about it and well it is normal...my belly is just growing when it hurts.


• I went for the horrible diabetes test this past Saturday. They have changed the drink and now it is soooo very gross!!! It did get you moving and doing flips like crazy though. :) Well you were doing your daily exercises I was feeling very gross and sick. I was not even allowed to chase the horrible taste away with water or gum. They would not let me have ANYTHING!! Thank goodness we only have to do that test once!! Doctor said it was all normal!! :)


• You are a very good baby at night too. *Knock on wood* You do all your moving around in the evening. :) The only time you kick me during the night is when I am trying to convince myself I don't have to get out of bed to grab a snack or go to the washroom.
  

Friday November 19 2010

Had a doctors appointment today. :) It was not with quack-a-doodle-doo!! The doctor that we seen was very nice and helpful and went over all the things I thought should be discussed. I might just look into getting her for my full time doctor. But anyways onto the results of the doctors appointment:

• Blood pressure 105/70 ~ She said that was good :)


• Belly measures in at 27 and a bit ~ right on track :)


• Baby Girls heart beat 140 :)


• Now for the big one...My weight 136 pounds!!! OUCH!!! I was 125pnds last check up and now 136!!! Started off at 105pnds and now 136pnds!!! OUCH!!! In case you all didn't notice I am absolutely shocked and horrified by this weight!! I was ok with 125pnds but my god 136pnds!!

Well that about wraps it all up for this update.

Pregnancy Update ~ 23 weeks 3 days

YIKES!! Look at those stretch marks!! I think I am brave for sharing this photo with my bloggy friends.


My doctors appointment today (Oct.22 2010)

SO here it is:

I have gained 20 pounds so far...YIKES!! I am now 125pounds!!
Blood pressure was good 110/60...now I thought the 60 part was low but I know nothing about blood pressure so we will go with the quack-a-doodle-doo says.
Baby Girls heart beat was 140 ~ It is really cute because Tornado just LOVES hearing her heart beat!! He talks into the speaker and tells her a story every time!!
My tummy measures 23cm, right on track!! But why do I feel SO freaking huge!! LOL
I got the blood work for drinking that horrible drink. I have been told they have changed it and it is not flat and HORRIBLE!! Is this true?!?! I hope not but I will soon find out.

Now to the rest of the update:

It is crazy to think with Tornado at this stage I was already in and out of the hospital with him. I went to the hospital for the first time at 22 weeks because of contractions. Than a few more times in between. Than admitted to the hospital at 24 weeks. Got stabbed a few times with the needle filled with steroids to help his lungs. I was in the hospital for 1 month!! It was horrible!!

When I got out it didn't get any better...I was put on bed rest. NO bathing NO getting out of bed (expect to pee) NO doing NOTHING until my hubby got home. I must also point out he is a carpenter SO it was LONG days for him.

I finally got off bed rest and BAM that night out he came. I think it is cuz I was able to walk around and do a few lite things around the house. LOL

At 22 weeks with Tornado we had all our baby things purchased and were all ready for him. We were eager first parents!! And well I am one that needs to be ready way in advance. If I am not prepared early I feel behind and rushed.

With this baby we only have a handful of things. It is driving me crazy not being set and ready.

With Tornado all I drank was pop an slurpees. I smoked with him :( I ate whatever with him. I worked like a hound dog. I had no idea on the dos and don'ts of pregnancy.

This time I am following the guidelines. I am still not drinking caffeine, which is a HUGE step for me!! I do miss having my sandwiches with lunch meat and my morning coffee BUT in time I will get it all back. It is all worth the life style change!!





That about sums it all up.





Oops forgot to put in Tornado's point of view on his baby sister. He asks her every morning to come out. I explain to him that she can not come out now because it would be really bad. He knows it will happen after Christmas but that is A LONG TIME, so he says.





He talks to her every day. He rubs my belly every day. He even asks her what she wants to eat and than tells me what she told him.





He asks her to save room on the couch, so he can snuggle with Mommy too.





He is such a GREAT big brother!! I just hope it continues once she is really here. I am sure his nose will get pushed out of joint but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.





Now I think that about sums it up!!





The next big decision is deciding whether to buy a used breast pump form kijiji or buy one brand new or just rent one...anyone have any suggestions on this topic?

Was It Really A Specialist Appointment?!?!

We went off to the asthma specialist appointment one Monday morning, Hubby taking time off work to join us. When I talked to the lady on the phone that set up the appointment she had told that the lady we were to see could help us out with finding a pediatrician for Tornado, all I had to do was tell her what had happened. GREAT!! She told me that she would be able to set up an allergy test for him, to see what triggers his asthma.

We get barely make it there on time, my Hubby likes to leave NO time for mistakes or delays. We are running down the hallways looking for this place. I have to go to the washroom and it is NOT very nice to make a pregnant woman run when she has to go!! We find the room and she is busy so off I run to the washroom. :) Thank goodness she was busy. :)

We get into the room, and a bathroom is bigger than this room. There is nothing for Tornado to do!! (At the Children's Hospital and nothing at all for him to do!!) With that being said he was a very well behaved boy considering the situation.

She could not help us get into a pediatrician. :( She informed us that is EXTREMELY hard to get into one and that if we did it would only be for Tornado's asthma. Why is that ?!?! Because we live in a big stupid city!! (my opinion) She could not set up the allergy testing!! What did she do you may ask?!?! She just went over what asthma was, well we already knew what it was because we both had it as children. The one helpful thing she did tell us was that NO person with asthma should have a cough suppressant!! Also, even as an adult you should still use a chamber because without it you are only getting 5% of the dose!! SO there you have it our appointment with the so called specialist. Don't get me wrong she was very well educated on asthma BUT it was not what we were told this appointment was all about.

In the end we felt robbed of our time and Hubby should of went to work!! Now we sit and wait to be called by the Asthma Specialist she referred us too. I hope this one can help us out more with Tornado's asthma and not just asthma in general. Only time will tell.

August 20 2010 Prenatal Appointment

Ok so it is confirmed my doctor is still a QUACK-A-DOODLE-DO!!
First things first blood pressure good :) weight 53.5 :) That is about all he told me.
Than I had to ask if the ultrasound came back ok...like should I really have to ask this?!?! I think not!!
Than he says ok lets see if we can hear the baby's heart beat BUT I don't think so I think you are not far enough yet. In my mind "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? I AM 14.5 WEEKS ALONG!!!" OMG what a useless doctor!!! Turns out SURPRISE SURPRISE he can hear the heart beat. 142beats/second :)
And this is what I waited for 45minutes for. That is it that is all. I can not wait to be able to go to a baby doctor!!

Is It Supposed To Be So Damn Stressful!!!

Ok so today, Monday July 26 2010, I receive a phone call from the ultrasound place. If you are suspecting twins you need to get a dating ultrasound because we need to know if we should book 30mins or 60mins for the Nuchal Translucency. Get off the phone and phone around to 5 other places to find out what is going on here. 3/5 of the places do the Nuchal Translucency and they all say the same thing. OK no prob I think! LMFAO Think again.

I phone my doctors and tell them what I have been told by the 3 places that actually do that test. She tells me she will call me back after she speaks with the doctor. So I wait and wait and wait...it feels like forever...but really just an hour. So she calls back and tells me the doctor said no. WTF!! I get very upset than very angry than very upset again and than I find myself saying sorry to her on the phone because it is not her fault and I hope she understands and than upset...and it goes on. LOL Damn pregnancy hormones have me all over the place this week!! SO she puts me on hold and than comes back and tells me my doctor will speak to me. SO I speak to my doctor, what an ass!! This is sorta how the conversation went:
Dr.Z "There is no need for you to have this ultrasound"
Me "Well the 3 places I phoned that do it ALL told me I need this done before the other one because we suspect twins"
Dr.Z "Well there is no need"
Me now on the verge of tears "OK so why than did you tell my son he was going to have two babies, thank you very much he told my hubby that and now he is stressed, I am showing already and if I'm not why the hell am I having to wear maternity clothes and why did the lady at Thyme Maternity think I was 4mths along!! And well doing research at home I have 5/8 signs of twins and the others you have to test for."
Dr. Z"You can't believe everything you read"
Me now crying and just in disbelief that this is so damn hard "Why is this so difficult?? OK fine what if I request one!! I mean they all told me I needed one and you are sitting here telling me no."
Dr. Z "Well I don't believe you so I am going to phone the ultrasound place and we will call you back"
Click and we all hang up.
I gather my strength and tell myself to stop crying. I should have the right to an ultrasound if I suspect twins. I have good reason to request one and even the damn doctor said maybe on Friday so WTF!! Now if only he would have listened for the heart beat than maybe he would of heard one or two but NO he wouldn't even do that. I researched many sites on heartbeats and every single one said 8weeks and up!! He called my friends liars he called me a liar but in the end I was right and so were my friends!!
Ok so now they have called me back "It turns out you were right about the ultrasound Pam. So we booked you an appointment for Thursday at 1045am."
Me "Ummm Thursday does not work for me"
Receptionist "Well I am sorry I tried really hard for a Friday but no go."
Me"Ok I guess I will just have to make this work"
So I get off the phone and call one of the moms and talk to her. Brainstorm and than a light bulb goes on in my head...Hey why don't I phone and check for a Friday appointment!!
So I phone the place and sure enough there are Friday appointments open. SHOCKED..nope not really!! And when I tell the lady my doctor said they tried really hard for Friday appointment she just laughed. Thanks for trying so hard for me...NOT!!
So in the end I was correct and all this stress for nothing!!
Now I get stress on finding a new doctor...John doesn't want me going back to Dr.Z and I really can't say I blame him. Anyone out there have any thoughts...good or bad doctor here. OR do you have a really good Doc you see that is accepting new patients?

Prenatal Appointment #1

Waste of time again!!

Got the PAP test. It is funny the year I am able to skip the horrible test I go and get pregnant LOL Kinda funny when one thinks about it.
Got weighed 50.3kg or 110lbs. So in the end I have gained 5lbs so far. YIKES
Took blood pressure...it is really good this time :) With Tornado it was extremely low throughout the pregnancy.
Got the form for an ultrasound and the doc said it was all ok for me to get it next week because I suspect twins :)
Went over blood work... vitamin D is way too low and vitamin B12 is too low too :( So more pills for me to pop every day!! LOL



Phone for ultrasound appointment

OMG the lady was *itch!!! I was on the phone for almost an hour with her!! She would not book me for next week...but would for the week I was on holidays. GGRRR Even though the form says right on it from 11wks0days!! I tell her look the week you want to book it I am not even in the province!! My doctor approved for me to have it done the week of July 26-30 2010!! I am sorry we don't do ultrasounds that early here. WTF are you talking about!! The only way you can have it done is if your doctor phones and makes the appointment. Well my doctor does not do that and this is why I am calling you!! He gave me the form to call and make the appointment!! So it was a hugh ass fight with her and it goes on and on...but I think you surely get the picture. In the end I had to book the following week. :( But on the positive side of things we found out with Tornado that he was a boy at 13weeks so maybe this one will be the same way.

Doctors Appointment Tuesday June 22 2010

So I went off to the doctors today and had the privilege of peeing in a cup for them to confirm the pregnancy. Come on now I know all of you are sooo jealous and wish you too could pee in a cup. LOL After I pee in the cup I get put into the room and I wait and wait and wait...come on now just come in here now!! I don't have patience when I am made to wait!! LOL The Dr.Z comes in and plays dumb with me!! LOL

"So what are you here for? It has been a while!" Dr.Z

I say "well I believe I am pregnant!"

He giggles and says "YES you sure are!"

Than we go through all the normal stuff last menstrual cycle, due date etc. and that was it!! I was shocked the first time around my doctor did the whole prenatal examine right there and set up the first ultrasound and everything!! Well now I get to go for blood work, WOOHOOO, and go back on July 23 for the examine.

So until than keep smiling :)
