12 Days Of Christmas 2010 @ Heritage Park

Sunday December 12 2010

WOW!! What a fun packed day!!

First we ventured out for breakfast. We ended up going to the Denny's on 16AVE and 19ST (I think that is the correct coordinates). End result DO NOT GO THERE!!! Here is why:
  1. We get there and order our drinks and Tornado's food. (we order Tornado's food asap because it takes him SOOO long to eat!!)

  2. The waitress brings out our drinks and Tornado's food and take than takes our order.

  3. We wait about 45 minutes for our food. Really no biggie because it is a Sunday and we understand that is a busy day for breakfast.

  4. Waitress finally brings out our food...STONE COLD!!! It was so cold the butter on the pancakes was not even melting. You could stick your finger right into the food and well it felt like it had just come out of the fridge.

  5. SEND IT BACK!!

  6. My mother-in-law goes to talk to the manager!!

  7. Waitress brings out our food not even 5 minutes later. HMMMM...

  8. Mother-in-law asks "did you just microwave this?" Waitress replies "Yes" like nothing was wrong that!! Mother-in-law "Are you kidding me!! That's it we are out of here...don't bother making us more food. We are going to another restaurant. If we wanted microwave food we could just eat at home."

  9. SEND IT BACK and GET THE HECK OUT OF THAT RESTAURANT.

  10. But first the manager comes over and apologizes and says she will get us fresh food. She had seen what happened with the whole microwave incident.

  11. NOPE we are still outta here!!

SO, after all that waiting we still have not had breakfast and it was close to noon now, we ventured out for breakfast at 10AM too. I also felt bad for Tornado because he had already eaten his breakfast and now he was going to have to sit through another.

We get to the other Denny's, yep we went to another one. There is a bit of a wait but really what do you expect on a Sunday Morning. Get our table and order our food right away!! Out comes our food...much better!! Gobble it down...than make our way to the 12 Days Of Christmas!!

For record Tornado was really good at restaurant #2!!

12 Days Of Christmas @ Heritage Park

Barely in the front gates and off goes Tornado to play in the snow!

He would have played there the whole day if we let him.
It actually took a lot of work to get him to listen so we could continue on our adventure.

Here is our guide: Tornado
"You go over the tracks and turn right..."

Mom and Tornado waiting to see the Reindeer.

I think this reindeer's name was Maggie.
Their fur is so soft and thick!!

This one looks like it is caught in headlights...BUG EYED!! LOL

Tornado convinced Grandma D and Papy to play ring around the rosie. BUT only Tornado fell down!!

Can you believe the line up to see Santa was SUPER short?!?!

Thank you Grandma D for buying me a Gingerbread Man to decorate!! :)

YUMMY!!
But can you believe he did not eat the whole thing!!

Here we are going for a Horse Wagon ride!!

Papy and Tornado peeking in the bakery window to see Dad and Grandma D.

School Time!!

Dad "Now what are you going to do?"
I don't think Tornado cared too much. LOL

Now what else did we do that day:
  • One thing that I must add...Bring a drink with you!! It is hard to find a place that sells water or something cold to drink!!
  • Tornado got to go shopping for Mom and Dad!! They get the parents to fill out a form and give a budget. Than the children go into a room with a volunteer to pick out a gift/gifts. Tornado had fun doing this!! Now the presents sit under our tree...Mom and Dad can not wait until Christmas morning to open them up!! It did take a bit to convince Tornado not to tell us.
  • Another part of the park that Tornado really liked was the maze part. But for some reason I never got a picture of that.
  • As we were leaving we all decided it would be a good idea to use the washroom. So, Tornado got Grandma D and Papy to watch his snow suit. Well when Tornado came out Grandma and Papy thought it would be funny to tell him that a little boy tried to take his coat. LOL Tornado did not like this at all!! He kept asking which boy it was and where he went. Grandma and Papy just said they didn't know. Well as we are walking back to the van Tornado says "Come out little boy...come on out...don't worry I won't beat you up!!"

I think that about sums up our day.

It was a really nice outing and everyone had fun!! Thank you Grandma D for inviting us!!

We will definitely go back next year!!
